Born and raised in northeastern Louisiana, country music has always held a special place in this twenty-seven year old singer and songwriter's heart. Musical influences include the likes of George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, George Jones, Conway Twitty and Keith Whitley just to name a few. While appealing to the younger audience with a number of recent cover hits, Gore's sets also include a wide variety of classic country hits for the more seasoned listener. For the past several years, David has performed in a number of venues across the region, including:

  • The North Louisiana Cotton Festival - Bastrop, LA
  • Music on Main Street - Bastrop, LA
  • The Landing - West Monroe, LA
  • Skeeter's Social Club - Bastrop, LA
  • Patrick's - West Monroe, LA
  • Granny's Family Restaurant - Bastrop, LA
  • Colgate Country Showdown (2006 Finalist) - Monroe, LA
  • Nashville Star Auditions - Tampa, FL

In addition, David is also a BMI songwriter with number of original compositions that speak directly from the heart and from experiences in his life. Such original works include: "Til We Meet Again Someday", which gives hope to the living and encourages everyone to live life without regrets. For all those that have loved and lost, only to find the love they knew would come there is a reflective ballad entitled, "A You & Me". And then there is "I Hope You Know", because we often get so wrapped up in the daily hustle and bustle, that we forget to say those three little words.

A Message from Dave . . .
I began writing lyrics many years back, when I was still in high school, but I never let anyone know I could sing. I guess subconciously I didn't think they would like my singing (like most, I'm my own worst critic). The very first time I sang in front of a group, was on Saturday, July 6th, 2002 in West Monroe, Louisiana, at a little bar known at the time as the Country Classic. I had been joking with everyone about singing karaoke and they all dared me to that night. After informing them that I didn't need any alcohol to assist me, I made my song selection, an old George Strait tune entitled, "The Chair", and well from that point on, something snapped in me and - it was all on from there.

Above all else, I'm happy being who God created me to be. As humans, we naturally long to be with someone, and we instinctly search for attention from others, but if we can ever become comfortable with solidarity, we in turn open the door to one of greatest freedoms "never" imagined. I feel that if you can ever reach the point where you can be truly comfortable being by yourself, you have mastered one of the greatest challenges in life. I feel fortunate to have found that peace and understanding early in my life and encourge everyone to find that happiness within.

I have had many moments in my life that seemed like a dead end road; however, in the course of my grief, I found that singing became an emotional support and it filled the void in my life.
Along the path, I've spent countless nights out in the local bars singing, meeting many new people, and made several good friends from the experience. It also made me realize for the first time that I truly do not need anyone to make my life complete and happy. I've found that when you are truly happy within, it makes the time you spend with the ones you love eevn better than you can imagine and opens up the door to love like we all should love one another, without condition.

Being born a creative person, I channel quite a bit of my energy into working on my songs. There are so many people out there that have a talent and don't use it. I don't want to look back one day when my life is over and wish that I had used my talent the way I could have.
To love me may be difficult at times, but the "creative process" is who I am - it is part of me and always will be.

I hope that in the course of my life and through my music I am able to somehow touch at least one person and make that diffference.
I am not seeking fame or fortune, I just want the opportunity to share my gift and songs with people out there - I want to identify with them through a song and let them know they are not alone.

To everyone I say, "Live Life Without Regrets". Make a point to always say "I Love You" to those that you love, but most importantly demonstrate to them what true love really is by your everyday actions.

Final Thoughts . . .
I've truly been blessed to have so many special friends in my life . . . as well as a wonderful family that I wouldn't trade for anything. Their love and honesty over the years means more to me they'll ever know. YOU all know who YOU are and I can't thank you enough for your love and support.

So many people out there are hurting, lonely and confused right now, and everyone has a story to be told. I want to encourage everyone out there to love themselves, and to also find that something that they were intended for. Everyone has a special talent, a skill, and a purpose in life, no matter how large or small, we all make a difference on earth.

And most importantly always remember - God is Real, don't ever be ashamed to talk to Him when you feel no one else is there for you. Thank Him often and ask Him to direct you along the path, He will NEVER leave you as long as you call on Him.

God Bless,

Dave
